FTA recognises work of Maritime Transport Ltd with Roadworthiness Award
Wednesday 27 April 2016
Maritime Transport Immingham Depot has received the FTA Roadworthiness Award 2016. In recognition of its high standards in maintenance of its fleet of vehicles and trailers, and controlling driver-related defects, the Freight Transport Association (FTA) presented the prestigious award to Maritime at the CV Show held at the NEC Birmingham today.
FTA's Roadworthiness Awards highlight its members' efforts in keeping their fleets safe, legal and efficient. They also recognise excellent standards of vehicle safety, condition and maintenance standards in the UK, and are designed to encourage and reward high standards of compliance with vehicle condition legislation.
The Award was presented by FTA’s CEO David Wells, who said: “FTA is delighted to present the prestigious Roadworthiness Awards to Maritime Transport’s Immingham Depot in recognition of the excellent standards they have in vehicle safety in order to maintain standards of compliance with vehicle condition. This Award reflects the high standards of the Group, and I would like to congratulate all involved on the efforts they clearly make in order to ensure that their fleet is safe, legal and efficient at all times.”
Maritime Transport owns one of the largest and most recognisable vehicle fleets in the UK operating within the container and general haulage sectors. With over 1,000 trucks running from 27 sites they are extremely conscious of their importance as role models, setting the bar high for compliance standards. With 39 Transport Managers already qualified and more undergoing training, they are demonstrating that actions speak louder than words with their results showing their serious approach to keeping their fleet safe and legal.
Stuart Wardlaw, Maritime Fleet Engineer, commented: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious FTA Roadworthiness Award for our Immingham Depot. We are incredibly proud of the high standards we maintain throughout our fleet, with safety being of paramount importance across our sites. This award can be attributed to everyone in our high quality workforce for the ongoing work they put into ensuring we lead the way in compliance. It recognises the exceptional contribution they make to maintain our excellent safety record.”
