Delegates say van briefings are brilliant & informative

Monday 23 May 2016

“A brilliant informative day”, “amazing choice of speakers and topics” and “gave me lots of information to take back to my drivers when talking about safety” are just some of the comments from delegates at this year’s FTA Van Excellence Operational Briefings sponsored by Mercedes Benz.

The events in Nottingham, Weybridge and Glasgow were such a success than an extra date has been added in Bristol on 7 June – and there are still a few places left!

The extra event takes place at Ashton Gate Stadium – home of Bristol City FC and Bristol Rugby – and gives van operators a chance to explore best practice across a range of key areas including road safety, the psychology of driving and driver distraction.

The event takes a closer look at the way drivers’ actions can impact on how a fleet operation works, and reflects on how planning and consideration can improve the way they work and the image of the van driver in the UK.

Mark Cartwright, FTA’s Head of Vans and LCVs, said: “This year’s briefings have been more successful than ever, with some hard-hitting content that really brings home messages such as the true impact of crashes and the consequences of driver distraction.

“We’re delighted to be able to add another date to our calendar and bring this thought-provoking event to the south west.”

The Van Excellence Operational Briefings 2016 are supported by Van Excellence Gold Partners ARI, ATS Euromaster, Bott Ltd, Hertz Van Rental, Lex Autolease and TomTom Telematics.

Places are available to all van operators whether existing Van Excellence members or those keen to know where to begin. The cost is just £50 plus VAT per delegate, or ten places for £200, and one free place is available to the Van Excellence Governance Group, Van Excellence accredited operators and Guide to Van Excellence subscribers.
