FTA launches Live Drive Pro – enabling safer, more efficient fleets

Monday 09 May 2016

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has announced the launch of Live Drive Pro, powered by Lightfoot, to its 15,000 members.

Live Drive Pro, which is available to FTA members at a preferential rate, is a key tool in improving the wellbeing of drivers, meeting occupational road risk management obligations and cutting overall operating costs and administration.

The real-time verbal feedback and coaching system enables companies to support better driving throughout their car and van fleet, helping drivers to understand exactly how they need to drive their vehicle to be both safe and efficient. The device, which can be simply and easily fitted, uses verbal and visual LED alerts to improve driving style, leading to greater fuel efficiency, reduced vehicle wear and tear, lower insurance premiums and reduced carbon dioxide emissions.

Alan Richardson, FTA’s Head of Membership, commented: “FTA has worked with Lightfoot to provide Live Drive Pro to its members, as we’re convinced that its real-time interactive in-vehicle support provides the best all-round driver improvement solution on the market.

“Live Drive Pro not only improves driving on the road in real time, but also enables fleet managers to recognise, reward and, where necessary, retrain drivers.”

In addition to playing a vital role in improving the efficiency and safety of drivers, Live Drive Pro also provides a vehicle tracking option, enabling managers to track their assets, optimise their operations and keep their personnel secure.

Benefits include:
• Fuel saving of more than 10%
• ‘At-fault’ accidents reduced by up to 50%
• Reduces wear and tear on the fleet
• Improves driver well-being
• Effortless administration platform for management
• Supports drivers to achieve against measurable KPIs
• Exclusive FTA member discount
