Friday 05 July 2019

Driverless and electric vans, digital policing, drones and last mile technology: the vans market is transforming at a rapid rate. To arm operators, manufacturers and industry leaders with the knowledge they need to embrace the future, FTA has launched a new one-day conference, Future Vans 2019, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Vans.

Taking place at the NAEC in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire on 3 October 2019, Future Van will bring together some of the most innovative minds in the industry to discuss and debate the forces set to shape the market in the coming years.  Featuring a diverse panel of speakers, including futurologist Fergus McVey of 7th Sense Research, the conference will cover: upcoming legislation; autonomous vehicle security; the growth and viability of electric vans; and the latest in last mile technology, including combined drone and van logistics. The event is also sponsored by Bott, Brigade Electronics, Hertz, Lex Autolease and Quartix.

“We’re seeing monumental changes in the van market as it adapts to environmental pressure and soaring consumer demand,” commented Mark Cartwright, Head of Vans and Light Commercial Vehicles at FTA. “From electric-powered vehicles to digital policing, drones and even autonomous vehicles, technology is evolving at a rapid rate; we want to arm companies with the toolkit they need to best prepare for the future.”

The full programme, including headline speakers, will be announced shortly. The price to attend the conference is £295.00 + VAT for members or £350.00 + VAT for non-members. To book your place please visit https://fta.co.uk/futurevan

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc. A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
