Wednesday 21 September 2016
Finding ways to cut costs and add value for customers are a constant challenge in the logistics industry - and using technology to achieve these aims will be on the agenda at an event this evening hosted by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) and Moore Stephens.
The two have joined forces to hold a free-to-attend seminar in London on the financial and strategic benefits of using technology in the logistics sector. Moore Stephens is a leading accounting and advisory network with offices throughout the UK and members across the globe, and operates across a number of key business sectors including transport and logistics.
Philip Bird, Director of Corporate Finance at Moore Stephens, said: “New digital technologies, automation and innovation are changing the make-up of the supply chain. Customers are demanding more for their money and logistics companies are looking at technological innovations to cut their costs and add value. At our event, we will discuss the increased use of technology and how it can benefit logistics companies both financially and strategically.”
The seminar will address the increased use of technology in the following areas:
• Telematics - driver information and vehicle usage
• Big data
• Visibility & collaboration in the supply chain
• Risk management
Speakers will include Richard Gibson, Strategic Development Director, Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd and Bruce Bratley, CEO of First Mile.
