Alpha LSG receives FTA Compliance Award

Friday 03 June 2016

Airport catering, retail and logistics specialist Alpha LSG Ltd, which provides services from facilities located at 17 airports throughout the UK, has been presented with the Freight Transport Association (FTA) Tachofta Compliance Award in recognition of its high standards of driver compliance and management of infringements.

This is Alpha LSG’s first annual award and the improvements at its Crawley depot in particular were highlighted. The site stood out with a year-on-year reduction in both average infringements per day and also in the number of drivers with repeat infringements. Between 2013 and 2014, the site started the process of migrating from an analogue to digital tachograph fleet. As part of this move, the site also had to train all of its drivers on the use of digital tachographs.

Mark Shergold, Key Account Contract Manager for FTA, said: “We are delighted to award Alpha LSG with this award as the site has shown that its systems for monitoring driver performance and the quarterly compliance reviews with a member of FTA’s onsite compliance team have clearly focussed attention on the keys areas that were causes of concern and facilitated an improvement.”

Sarah Pryor, Service Delivery Manager at Alpha LSG, commented: "It’s great to get some positive recognition and to be able to pass this down to my team. Over the last two years, our service delivery trainer Geoff Hall has been instrumental in providing one-to-one training and verbal communication to the drivers who required the support - clearly this has helped and improvements have been made.”

Debbie Storey, Fleet Manager for Alpha LSG LTD, also commented: “I was extremely impressed with the improvements at our Gatwick site on their driver performance on tachograph analysis. For the FTA award to be presented to Alpha LSG Gatwick as our most improved site shows Gatwick’s dedication for compliance on tachograph analysis and their improvement year-on-year is great.”
