Party conference season – Logistics UK is representing the sector
“It is our sector that ensures the resilience of the UK’s supply chains, delivering the goods and materials that factories, construction sites, hospitals, schools, shops and homes rely on every day,” says Acting Chief Executive Kevin Green. “That’s why it is vital for the views of our member businesses to be heard at this year’s party conferences, where we will be discussing issues that affect logistics with attendees.”
There is a full calendar of activity and this week, Deputy Director – Public Affairs Ben Garratt attended the Liberal Democrats’ conference in Bournemouth, hearing Liberal Democrats Leader Ed Davey highlight the importance of strong business policy to grow the economy. The Logistics UK team also attended SNP Business Day and Reform UK’s conference earlier this month.
Next week, all eyes will be on Liverpool for the Labour Party Conference and on Monday 29 September Logistics UK will be hosting a panel discussion posing the question “Is logistics the answer to growth and sustainable communities?”
Tuesday 30 September sees Logistics UK in partnership with Heathrow, Rail Freight Group, DP World and the Port of Dover hosting a Global Trade and Logistics Reception where Mike Reader MP, Chair of the International Trade and Investment APPG, and Rachel Taylor MP, Chair of the Freight and Logistics APPG, will both be speaking.
