Logistics UK Policy Meetings

Member Meetings, also known as Freight Councils, are our regional forums where members come together to discuss policy positions on both emerging and ongoing issues. These include areas such as road regulation, government regulatory reform, infrastructure, road decarbonisation and skills.

Held three times a year across the UK, these meetings are open to all members and are designed to be highly interactive. We regularly invite external speakers, such as the Traffic Commissioners, to share insights and support meaningful discussion.

Alongside shaping policy, Member Meetings also provide valuable networking opportunities to give members the chance to connect with peers across the sector. Please view the links to view further information on each Member Meeting.

The feedback and priorities raised at Member Meetings feed directly into Road Council, where representatives from each region come together to agree our policy positions before they are taken forward to decision makers. Road Council is the culmination of the Member Meeting cycle and takes place three times a year in London.

Attendance is by invitation only, with a set number of representatives allocated to each regional Member Meeting group. We are regularly joined by senior guest speakers from key organisations, such as the DVSA, who provide valuable insight and support robust discussion.

Working Groups cover a broad range of issues across every mode of freight transport. Whatever the challenge or opportunity facing our industry, it is likely to be explored in one of our many specialist Working Groups listed below. These groups bring together subject‑matter experts and members with hands‑on experience to inform our thinking, shape our positions, and support meaningful dialogue with government and regulators. Logistics UK operational members are welcome to attend any of our Member Meetings and Working Groups, supplier members are by invite only. with full Terms of Reference available on the links above. Please enquire online to join.
