– Hosted the Logistics UK Environment Working Group meeting, where members fed back ideas to consultation responses on the zero emission vehicle transition, Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation, UK Emissions Trading Scheme and Ofgem consultations. Members also heard from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.
– Logistics UK has joined the West Midlands Combined Authority Logistics and Distribution Board.
– Met with National Highways to discuss the uptake of zero emission vehicles.
– Met with HMRC and the RHA, along with members, to push for a Trusted Haulier scheme for groupage operators moving goods from GB to Northern Ireland.
– Hosted the first Freight Council meetings, with members convening in Scotland, Wales and the South West.
– Met with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency about the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
– Attended a maritime evening reception in the Scottish Parliament, jointly hosted by the British Ports Association and the UK Chamber of Shipping.
– Briefed the office of James Wild, Shadow Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, on the impact of the Budget on the logistics sector.
