Members are advised to be prepared for delays despite the fact that Operation Brock is not being deployed this February half term.

Operation Brock will not be deployed this February half term (Monday 16 February to Friday 20 February) the Kent and Medway Resilience Forum (KMRF) Traffic Management Operations Group (TMOG) has confirmed, having concluded that existing control measures to manage any disruption will be sufficient.

Operation Brock is a contraflow system that is brought into effect on the M20 during periods of heavy disruption, to ensure that traffic can continue to flow.

Logistics UK’s Senior Policy Manager – Trade, Customs and Border Josh Fenton: “Although Operation Brock will not be implemented this February half term, we’re advising members to ensure they continue to follow best practice as holiday periods can lead to higher than usual traffic.

“This includes allowing for extra time during trips, staying well-stocked up with supplies such as food and drink, and ensuring all paperwork is up to scratch.

“By doing this, drivers will stand themselves in good stead to mitigate any disruption that arises from congestion.”
