Changes to Statutory Holiday Settings

We have made some changes to allow more flexibility when adding holidays to a driver where the account has the “Calculate Statutory holiday” feature set to on.

In the past, the first 20 holidays added to a drivers’ records would automatically be assigned as Statutory holiday. We have made a change that will now allow you to choose to allocate the holiday as Extra Holiday even if there are still Statutory holidays available. This change will allow you to distribute holidays more effectively adding Extra holidays that have no notional working time attached to them, over busy periods and statutory holidays around the quieter times.

To use this simply select the date, choose extra holiday and confirm that you are intentionally adding an extra holiday rather than a statutory holiday:

The holiday calculator at the top of the page will update showing how many statutory and how many extra holidays have taken place. The Statutory Holiday report will also keep you up to date with the numbers of holidays assigned:

Editing Holidays

You can change an existing Statutory Holiday to an extra holiday. Open the day detail page and then edit a Statutory holiday and change it to an extra holiday. However, when changing the holiday, it will replace the next Extra holiday that was automatically applied by the system to Statutory holiday which will update your working time calculations:

In this example, the company has 20 days of statutory holiday available. The system has applied the first 20 days as Statutory Holiday and the last 8 days as extra holiday:

When the 26^th June is changed to Extra holiday, the system automatically changes the 6^th July to be statutory holiday:

Please be aware that this is happening as it may affect working time calculations.
