FTA Transport Manager conferences celebrate success with bigger venues

Thursday 06 July 2017

The Freight Transport Association’s Transport Manager conference series sponsored by Iveco returns this September to new bigger venues following last year’s record-breaking events.

The 10 conferences across the country will highlight key issues for those working in the industry, including updates on Brexit, legislation changes and other important information and advice to help transport managers remain compliant.

These ‘must-attend’ conferences broke records last year for the number of attendees, exceeding 1200 for the time in the event’s history. Five new venues have been chosen for this year’s series to enable more delegates to be accommodated.

The conferences have been running for more than 20 years and are supported by Brigade Electronics and Goodyear Tyres for 2017.

James Firth, FTA’s Head of Licensing Policy and Compliance Information, said: “These events are an essential tool to help transport managers stay up-to-date with ever-changing legislation and best practice across the industry. The fact that numbers have grown year-on-year illustrates the regard in which they are held by operators.

“The programme is designed to include all the must-know information and FTA’s experts are on hand to offer advice. Compliance is key in the logistics industry and the Transport Manager conferences provide reassurance that operators are equipped with the most current information available.”

This year’s programme includes sessions on city centre lorry restrictions, terrorism and HGV security, apprenticeships and skills and vehicle camera technology.
