Big announcements from FTA as projects and products launched
Monday 11 April 2011
A highlight of the Freight Transport Association's stand at the CV Show this week is the launch of the second annual Logistics Report, charting what has been a particularly tough 12 months for the UK logistics sector, based on research by FTA and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
FTA will also launch its brand new Guide to Van Excellence, a comprehensive guide to successfully running a van fleet. The Guide to Van Excellence is part of the association's Van Excellence initiative, aiming to improve operating standards among van fleets and improve the image of the sector.
Another highlight of the stand will be the launch of FTA’s brand new PCN administration service. The hassle and cost that penalty charge notices can mean for busy transport offices will be significantly reduced by allowing FTA to take on the burden of processing, appealing and managing PCNs, enabling companies to take advantage of any discounted period available, to appeal whenever necessary, and monitor PCNs to establish any significant patterns that are arising.
FTA staff will be using iPads to demonstrate the tachograph Reporting Gateway, an interactive online service that gives companies a clear overview of their drivers' hours and tachograph compliance, and enables managers to drill down through reports to show detail by region, depot or even to each individual driver within that depot. FTA will also be announcing the launch of its new online version of the popular CDU Tachograph data management software.
Free management briefings by the FTA Member Advice Centre will also be taking place on the stand, offering advice and information on fuel efficiency and the Driver CPC, and giving visitors the opportunity to benefit from FTA's unparalleled expertise. Briefings on both subjects will be available in the morning and afternoon every day of the show. Guests can register for a briefing at the FTA stand, 5D80 in Hall 5.
