FTA Ireland's new website goes live

Tuesday 16 November 2010

Ireland’s leading multi-modal transport trade association, Freight Transport Association Ireland, now has an online presence on its journey to becoming the undisputed voice for Irish logistics. Visitors to www.ftai.ie will be able to find out more about how this newly created trade body aims to make Ireland’s roads and its commercial vehicles safer and greener, and improve the image of logistics in Ireland in the process.

Declan McKeon, FTA Ireland’s newly-appointed Head of Policy, said:

“We have designed the website to be as user-friendly and informative as possible and we hope that it will help publicise the convincing benefits FTA Ireland can bring to companies in Ireland. It is exciting to be here at the inception of what is certain to become an important feature of Ireland’s logistics landscape and the launch of this website is another step forward.”

Established by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) as a response to industry’s need to improve the profile of logistics practices in the Republic of Ireland, FTA Ireland will give the Irish logistics industry a new opportunity to present its combined views on transport policy. Its members include some of the largest businesses in Ireland as well as prominent Irish transport companies.

McKeon concluded:

“Now the website is up and running, the next milestone for FTAI will be its first Council meeting later this month - we already have a pretty substantial agenda so we are sure this will yield some very lively debate and some interesting outcomes.”
