Logistics UK's Transport Manager of the Year competition 2025 open for entries
Monday 12 May 2025
Transport managers are often the unsung heroes and heroines of the transport industry, yet without their oversight and attention to detail, many of the country’s logistics businesses would find it hard to operate effectively and in a compliant manner. To celebrate their achievements, and recognise their contribution to efficient logistics operations, Logistics UK’s Transport Manager of the Year competition is back for 2025. If you are a transport manager, or know someone who deserves recognition, this is the competition to enter as soon as possible.
Logistics UK’s competition offers a unique opportunity to showcase transport managers’ industry expertise, leadership skills and operational knowledge, enabling them to gain well-deserved recognition from industry leaders and peers as they compete amongst the best in the industry.
The competition is open to all transport professionals nominated or contracted to manage transport operations or working towards their CPC qualification - no matter the size or scope of their business. Entries need to be endorsed by a line manager or company senior management and are open until the end of May 2025.
David Wells OBE, Logistics UK’s Chief Executive, comments: “The Transport Manager of the Year competition acknowledges and celebrates the best transport managers in the country and recognises the vital nature of the work they do, giving them well-deserved recognition from industry leaders and peers as they compete amongst the best in their field. Without their expertise, our sector would find it hard to remain compliant while operating. I look forward to meeting this year’s winner at the Logistics Awards later in the year.”
Last year's winner Tracy Downend, who is Distribution Manager at Booker, is returning for 2025 as a judge. At the time of winning last year, Tracy said: “I’m truly grateful and delighted to be given this award, on what was a fantastic evening. It was an honour to be nominated in such a competitive category alongside some incredible people, and I share this award with everyone who works so hard in this brilliant industry all year round.”
The competition will take place over multiple stages and includes a legislation and compliance knowledge test, as well as a case study submission and online interviews. The finalists will be announced at Logistics UK’s Transport Manager conference in Birmingham on 2 December and the ultimate winner revealed at the Logistics Awards on 11 December, giving entrants an exclusive chance to celebrate their achievements in front of hundreds of key industry figures.
Prizes include a £1,200 holiday voucher for the winner and all finalists will be invited to attend the Logistics Awards with a guest.
