Logistics UK's Transport Manager of the Year 2024 winner announced!

 

We are thrilled to announce that Tracy Downend, Distribution Manager at Booker, has been named Logistics UK's Transport Manager of the Year 2024! Congratulations to Tracy on this well-deserved achievement. Tracy took home the top prize after demonstrating exceptional skills and knowledge throughout the competition. 

 

Our runner-up was Jemma Deans from Oilfast Ltd and Phil Sessions from Gap Group Ltd secured the finalist position. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding performance and dedication.

 

A word from our winner:

“I’m truly grateful and delighted to be given this award, on what was a fantastic evening. A huge congratulations to all Transport Managers shortlisted this year, and a special mention to Jemma at Oilfast who was runner-up. It was an honour to be nominated in such a competitive category alongside some incredible people, and I share this award with everyone who works so hard in this brilliant industry all year round. About the competition:

 

Supported by BP, the competition is open to all Transport Managers holding or working towards their CPC qualification. It provides a unique platform for professionals to showcase their industry knowledge, leadership skills and operational expertise whilst gaining recogntion from industry leaders and peers. 

This year's participants engaged in a series of challenging virtual assessments delivered remotely. The competition ended with the finalists announced at the final Transport Manager conference in Birmingham; the ultimate winner was then announced at Logistics UK's Logistics Awards where finalists and their guests were invited to attend.

Competition stages:

Stage 1: Statutory requirement testings. Taking place end-May to  early June (2 week allowance). 

Stage 2: Case study submission. Taking place mid-June to mid-July (4 week allowance). 

Stage 3: Online interview. Taking place. Taking place end-July to August (1 hour allowance).
