FTA Transport Manager conferences set for another record-breaking year

Thursday 12 September 2019

The first of FTA’s Transport Manager conferences takes place in just two weeks’ time, and bookings look set to break previous records once again with over 1,200 delegates already booked to attend.  The first in the eleven-venue series, taking place in Yeovil on Thursday 26 September, is already fully booked, and with others filling up fast anyone interested in attending is encouraged to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The eleven conferences, sponsored by Bridgestone Tyres, highlight key issues for anyone operating commercial vehicles and include an address by the local Traffic Commissioner, an update on enforcement by the DVSA, with other sessions covering tyres, technology and how to significantly reduce your fuel budget; brake testing; urban restrictions; trailer developments; drivers’ employment status; and an update on the use of vehicles as a weapon by the National Vehicle Threat Mitigation Unit.

The conferences, which are also sponsored by Schmitz Cargobull and Brigade Electronics, include an essential legislative round-up and technical update highlighting the main topics on the horizon that vehicle operators need to be aware of in order to ensure the safety, compliance and efficiency of their organisation, and there will also be the return of the highly popular interactive quiz.

Carlie Nowell, FTA’s Head of Events, said: “This year’s Transport Manager seems set to be even bigger and better than ever – bookings have never been so high at this stage, with two weeks to go before the conferences start.  The events provide the ideal opportunity for delegates to gather the very latest compliance information, straight from policy makers and experts, and we’re delighted that so many transport managers are keen to come along and make sure they are in possession of the most up-to-date information available.

“Although the first conference in Yeovil is now full to capacity, there are still plenty of places available at our other venues around the country, so anyone who hasn’t already booked their place still has the opportunity to come along and learn what’s going to be important to the sector in the coming year.”

Transport Manager will be touring the UK from September to November 2019 and places are still available at Peterborough, Newcastle, Manchester, London, Southampton, Belfast, Scotland, Doncaster, Coventry and Wales.  For further information or to book a place go to https://fta.co.uk/tm2019 or call FTA Customer Services on 03717 11 22 22.
