Deadline extended for Van Excellence Awards 2019

Monday 23 September 2019

FTA has extended the deadline for entries to its Van Excellence Honours Lunch 2019, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Vans, to 29 September 2019 following a flurry of late entries.

The awards will be held at a lunch at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham on 12 November 2019 and celebrate the van operators who have made a significant contribution to the industry. The event is also sponsored by the Automobile Association, Bott Ltd, Brigade Electronics, Hertz UK Ltd, Lex Autolease and Quartix.

Mark Cartwright, Head of Vans and Light Commercial Vehicles at FTA, the voice of the UK logistics industry, comments: “If you are a van operator committed to placing compliance, safety, technological innovation and driver wellbeing at the heart of your business, make sure you do not miss the chance to be recognised as an industry leader in your field of expertise. With so many nominations coming in thick and fast, it seemed only fair to extend the deadline to give more operators the chance to showcase their successes.

“As the van market continues to grow rapidly, it is important to recognise and reward the operators consistently leading the way in excellence and setting a high standard for others to follow.”

With the exception of the 'Van Hero of the Year' award, which is open to all, the following categories are open to Van Excellence Accredited Operators only:

  • Making a Difference
  • Putting Drivers First
  • Helping the Community
  • Using Technology for Good
  • Keeping your Show on the Road!
  • Winning at Wellbeing

Administered by FTA, the leading organisation in UK logistics, Van Excellence was created in 2010 to promote the safe operation of vans, represent the interests of the sector, and celebrate operators demonstrating excellent standards. Central to the scheme is the Van Excellence Code, a set of minimum best practice standards all van operators should aspire to achieve, covering safety, efficiency and sustainability.
