What the 2021 Budget means for logistics: FREE member briefing
The 2021 Budget, to be held on Wednesday 3 March, is expected to provide some clarity on the timing of any tax increases to pay for pandemic borrowing and the extension of business support schemes.
To help members understand the likely impact of the 2021 Budget on their business, Logistics UK is holding a free-to-attend business briefing at 10.00 on Monday 8 March.
Traditionally, the Chancellor’s Budget statement to the House of Commons outlines the state of the UK economy and the government’s plans for raising or lowering taxes. This year, following the dramatic economic fallout from the pandemic, HM Treasury has said that the Budget will set out the next phase of the plan to tackle the virus and protect jobs.
Ryan Barnett, Economics and Research Manager at Logistics UK, said: “Our business briefing aims to provide insights into what the Budget means for businesses, including how any changes to tax and fuel costs might impact them. We’ll also look at what continuing help is available to help businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic, including business loans and furlough support, and look ahead at key government annoucements expected over the next year and what these may mean for businesses.
“We look forward to updating our members on how their operations may be affected and showing them how they need to respond – both now and in the future – against a fast-changing economic backdrop.”
Book your place at the business briefing.

The UK-EU trade and cooperation agreement should be revised to protect UK jobs and ensure that the nation’s cultural expertise can continue to be delivered to Europe and beyond, Logistics UK has said. Following his submission to Lord Frost, Minister of State for the Cabinet Office, David Wells, Chief Executive of Logistics UK, said that those overlooked in the agreement signed with the EU are not limited to the performing arts sector but extend to specialised transport companies that make the UK an efficient and attractive hub for international artists.
