Logistics UK conference set to discuss the future of vans
Decarbonisation is a high priority for businesses operating vans of any fleet size, and to support this, Logistics UK has announced a session dedicated to exploring the future of vans at its upcoming Future Logistics Conference, part of the ITT Hub event.
To be held at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre on 30 June 2021 and 1 July 2021, the Vans – Future Vehicles and Future Fuels session will take place on the first day of the conference – Wednesday 30 June 2021 – from 3pm-4pm.
Michelle Gardner, Logistics UK’s Head of Public Policy, comments: “While new electric vans are emerging onto the market, challenges remain around cost, infrastructure and payload. This in-depth session – which will include speakers such as Peter Harris, International Sustainability Director at UPS – will explore the various factors to be considered by operators before procuring their next set of vehicles and will prompt operators to consider the right path for their individual operations.”
ITT Hub will showcase more than 160 exhibitors and will feature The Electric Mobility Theatre by Webfleet Solutions and Bridgestone, plus the first ever live edition of EV CafĂ© supported by myenergi. Leading van manufacturers Iveco, Mercedes, Fiat Professional, Harris Maxus, and Ford will also be attending the event. A unique Ride & Drive opportunity will allow visitors the chance to try out the UK’s most cutting-edge trucks, vans, buses, coaches, bikes and autonomous vehicles on a two-mile roadway at the exhibition and conference. More than 30 speakers will be presenting at Logistics UK’s Future Logistics Conference, including British Astronaut Major Tim Peake CMG.
All visitors wanting to try a vehicle for themselves will need to pre-arrange a test drive with the exhibitor at the event and have their driving licence checked and approved at the Licence Bureau stand on site. Drug and alcohol safety experts from AlcoDigital will be providing testing services for the Ride & Drive test facility, using its innovative range of testing products to deliver quick and reliable results.
In line with the current government guidelines, ITT Hub 2021 falls within Step 3 of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown. Visitors can plan with peace of mind and are advised to register now. The organisers and venue have taken great care to implement safe COVID-compliant measures for attendees.
