Opportunity to approach ex-forces personnel to fill staff vacancies

Owing to the severe staff shortages reported by the industry, many logistics operators are increasingly looking to recruit personnel leaving the armed forces.

Owing to the severe staff shortages reported by the industry, many logistics operators are increasingly looking to recruit personnel leaving the armed forces. Many ex-forces personnel will already have gained their HGV licences in the service, while others may have backgrounds in mechanical engineering and other logistical roles, making them an attractive source of talent for the sector.

Logistics UK has teamed up with Ex Forces Jobs Network, the network which reaches all those leaving the armed forces, as well as their families and friends. As reported in Logistics Magazine last month, in an exclusive partnership deal Ex Forces Jobs Network is offing Logistics UK members a specially discounted opportunity to advertise available jobs on its Jobs Board at a price of only £25 per vacancy (plus VAT).

“Ex forces personnel are proven to be well organised, fully trained and self-disciplined – and with the logistics sector suffering from a severe shortage of drivers and other staff, this is a great opportunity for our members,” said David Wells, Chief Executive of Logistics UK, “For members that are currently struggling with their recruitment, I am delighted to be able to offer this discounted service.”

To advertise any vacancies on the Ex Forces Jobs Network at the discounted rate for Logistics UK members, use the promotional code FTA25.

Have you got a story? Has your business recruited ex-forces personnel in the past? Perhaps your employer has launched an initiative to actively recruit those leaving the armed forces or you just have a one-off story you would like to share. Logistics UK is keen to hear from those who are happy to talk to the press. If you would like to share your story please contact Logistics UK’s media team at press.office@logistics.org.uk.
