Discover Logistics Careers weekend – last chance to get involved

A broad range of Logistics UK members, including household names such as Aldi, John Lewis Partnership and Wincanton, are planning to host more than 25 open events during the Discover Logistics Careers weekend of 29-31 October 2021.

Backed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the national campaign is also scheduled to be featured in the Sun on Sunday this coming weekend (24 October 2021).

A searchable nationwide register of events is being publicised for members of the public to attend, and there will be downloadable materials for members to use to raise awareness of the activities taking place. DWP will also be publicising the events throughout its network of careers advisers and job centres to encourage attendance.

“The acute skills shortages in parts of the UK’s supply chain have been well documented,” said Kevin Green, Marketing and Communications Director, Logistics UK. “The upcoming Discover Logistics Careers weekend gives logistics businesses the perfect opportunity to open their doors and advertise any roles they currently have available. I am delighted that more and more companies are signing up to our campaign, including a number of household names, and I would urge any of our member businesses looking to attract new talent to take this opportunity to get involved.”

Members that are interested in hosting a site visit, talk or presentation for potential candidates are invited to register their interest by completing the online form from the link below.
