Jamie Sands of Welch’s Transport is Logistics UK’s Rising Star of the Year


Business group Logistics UK has named Jamie Sands, Group Operational Support and Systems Manager at Cambridgeshire-based Welch’s Transport, the Rising Star of the Year at its annual Logistics Awards, held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Thursday 7 December 2023.

Jamie’s impressive dedication, innovation and commitment to excellence in the logistics industry have set them apart.  

Their passion for logistics, embrace of technology, and problem-solving abilities have been instrumental in improving efficiency and performance.  

They have also demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, inspiring and motivating teams to achieve organisational goals.  

Their nomination is a testament to their exceptional achievements and their potential to shape the future of logistics.  

“The judges were highly impressed by Jamie’s exceptional leadership qualities, forward thinking and adaptability to industry changes, with varied learnings and successes across numerous logistics areas,” said David Wells OBE, Chief Executive at Logistics UK.  

“I am delighted to name Jamie Sands the Rising Star of the Year.”  

Pasqualino Vaccarella of Yodel was highly commended in this award category, which is sponsored by Bridgestone Mobility Solutions. 

Logistics UK’s Logistics Awards 2023 recognise and celebrate the companies and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the logistics and supply industry over the past 12 months and who excel in their fields.
