Register now for Logistics UK’s first member briefing of 2024

Our first member briefing webinar of 2024 is taking place on 18 January at 10am.  Working in the logistics industry has presented a number of quite formidable challenges in the last few years, including Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, an acute skills shortage, a global recession and impending decarbonisation deadlines, all while in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis.

Naturally, the legal and regulatory framework of the country has had to shift to rise to the challenge and reflect our new reality. But under pressure we must keep up to speed with the latest changes to road transport legislation and continue to meet the needs of the nation.

As part of Logistics UK’s programme to help transport managers identify the compliance challenges facing the sector in the coming months, during this webinar the Member Advice Centre will take members through the key issues facing road transport operators in the year ahead.

Topics include the Border Target Operating Model, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Smart Tachograph 2.

P&O Ferries strengthens North Sea presence with new London-Rotterdam freight route

P&O Ferries has announced the opening of a new RoRo freight route in the North Sea, between London (Tilbury 2) and Rotterdam (Europoort), starting in March 2024. This service will complement P&O Ferries’ existing Zeebrugge to London route together with strengthening its rail-connected hub in Rotterdam.

“The opening of our new route between London and Rotterdam gives P&O Ferries a unique network in the North Sea,” said Peter Hebblethwaite, P&O Ferries’ CEO.

“We now have five hubs: Hull, Teesport, Tilbury, Zeebrugge and Europort, connecting the north-east and south-east of England with the continent. We will offer our freight customers the earliest arrival on the Thames from Rotterdam, along with swift access to the M25 and terminal rail connections. The opening of the London-Rotterdam route will mark another significant step in our business transformation and further contribute to the end-to-end logistics service offered by our parent company, DP World.”
