Dangerous goods (ADR) updates 2025

Every two years there is an update of the regulations for transportation of dangerous goods by road (ADR), inland navigation (ADN). 2025 is one of those years.

With the New Year here and the return to the office, 2025 sees several updates to the ADR agreement which came into force on 1 January 2025. This briefing note covers the most notable updates along with the addition of 11 new UN numbers covering sodium-ion batteries and electric vehicles.

Although operators can choose which set of rules to follow, ADR 2023 or ADR 2025, they can only do this until 30 June 2025, where ADR 2023 rules will cease to be recognised, and therefore will have to comply with ADR 2025.

The briefing note can be downloaded here.
