Gary Powell, Technical Manager, Bridgestone
Bridgestone’s North Region Technical Manager Gary Powell is responsible for ensuring high product quality and reliability across all of Bridgestone’s product ranges. Gary supports research and product development in both product applications for customers and future development requirements as a whole. Gary’s technical tyre knowledge is second to none, having held a number of senior technical positions at Bridgestone for 21 years and boasts 33 years’ experience in the industry as a whole. An original equipment senior manager role also saw Gary work on bespoke products for Toyota, Honda, Ford and Aston Martin, not to mention a host of other manufacturers.
Carla Detrieux, Director of Business Development, Volta Trucks
Volta Trucks’ Director of Business Development, Carla Detrieux, was part of the founding team and pivotal in shaping and defining the company’s mission to be the leader in zero emissions, safe and sustainably mobility. Starting her career in the hospitality sector with Best Western and Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, Carla has put customer relationships and experience at the heart of the Volta Trucks’ business development strategy, spearheading partnership, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, which culminated in Europe’s two largest ever orders of electric heavy commercial vehicles, with Petit Forestier and DB Schenker. Since Volta Trucks launched 18 months ago, Carla has successfully built a team of Business Development Managers, with cross-sector experience, facilitating market entry into 6 European countries and customer engagement across multiple industries.

Denise helps to deliver Logistic UK’s urban and environmental logistics policy agenda, in particular, proactively leading Logistics UK’s policy work on vans, including publications, information services and discussion forums in connection with policy and regulatory issues. Denise joined Logistics UK in August 2018 from the Federation of Small Businesses, where she was Development Manager for Greater London and led on Transport, Environment and Crime policy issues in the capital.
