The efficient movement of freight in the UK is vital to the economy and must not be stifled by inadequate road infrastructure and lack of capacity.
Logistics UK’s view on this issue
The Government has a central role to play in creating genuine modal choice for industry, allowing it to move freight by the most efficient mode of transport. However, this needs to be achieved by helping each mode to fulfil its market potential, rather than by creating constraints through artificially raising costs or limiting capacity.
The association, through consultation with members, looks to identify the most appropriate road infrastructure improvements and works with road authorities and government to ensure the scheme which will serve the to improve the efficiency of freight movement by road.
