UK start up launches £15k electric van
A new UK-built electric van range is targeting the lower-cost end of the market, with the Electric Van Company (EVC) launching its CitySprint as a lightweight solution for urban delivery work.
Designed for fleet operators, the CitySprint combines reliability, agility, and efficiency in a compact package that sets a new benchmark for last‑mile logistics.
Hailing from Lancashire, the CitySprint is powered by a Permanent Magnet synchronous motor paired with a 23.04kWh LFP battery, offering up to 120 miles of range and a top speed of 46mph – perfect for dense city streets. Its rear‑wheel drive, 5.5m turning radius and compact footprint ensure effortless manoeuvring, while a 500kg payload and 1,450kg GVW make it genuinely practical for everyday deliveries.
Standard features include LED lighting, air conditioning, central locking, a 9-inch control screen with USB connectivity, and factory‑fitted Geotab telematics for live fleet tracking.
With multiple UK-built body options and a robust warranty, the CitySprint arrives ready to transform urban logistics.
Logistics UK’s Senior Policy Manager Stephanie Haszczyn said: “For businesses working in urban environments, the transition to zero-emission fleets must be both practical and commercially viable.
“Vehicles that combine low upfront cost with the right range, payload and manoeuvrability can play a vital role in accelerating adoption, particularly for SMEs and last-mile delivery specialists. It’s encouraging to see UK innovation focused on removing some of the key barriers our members face when decarbonising their fleets.”
