Belgium:

DP World has launched a dedicated carbon inset trial for ocean freight forwarding customers based in Belgium, Portugal and Sweden, as part of a strategy to deliver immediate reductions in customers’ Scope 3 emissions.

From April 2026 credits will be automatically applied to customers that are booking ocean freight forwarding services, which means qualifying importers and exporters will receive carbon credits directly every quarter.

Carbon insets reduce emissions by using lower carbon fuels or more efficient transport. The latest trial is supported by sustainability training, to help customers learn more about the trial and how to address supply chain emissions.

Europe:

HOLOLOGISTICS has officially launched, a project co-funded by the European Union and the Swiss Secretariat that aims to decarbonise transport and logistics networks across Europe.

It will run until 2028 and strive to reduce emissions in the sector while improving the efficiency, connectivity and resilience of these networks.

For the duration of the project HOLOLOGISTICS will develop and demonstrate 12 physical and digital solutions such as interoperable containers, AI-driven digital platforms and IoT tools.
