Agrii receives delivery of Mercedes-Benz eHGVs

UK agricultural distributor Agrii has taken delievery of its first electric HGV, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS ProCabin Stream 4×2.

According to the distributor, the eHGV was chosen because of its 500km range on a single charge, which suited Agrii’s needs for completing a 460km nightly round trip between its central distribution centre and network of depots, and its quiet, all-electric powertrain which minimises noise disturbances during nighttime deliveries in rural areas.

The eActros 600 was picked following an extensive evaluation process where the eHGVs were tested in trials carrying a full load on Agrii’s regular routes. It is expected to reduce the company’s emissions by around 59 tonnes per year, based on annual mileage of 60,000km.

The delivery was facilitated by Midlands Truck & Van, which supplied the vehicle.
