Engineering Investigation

Our team are regularly called to support members where an independent investigation is required into the cause or the effects of a vehicle engineering issues like an engineering related failure, the cause of a collision, fault finding and rectification, or perhaps an objective review of a member’s fleet to allow optimal planning and best whole life costs.

Engineering Investigation

Ascertaining if and how, for example a brake component failure may have led to a vehicle accident can be critical to the ongoing functioning of an operator’s business.  Was this due to general wear and tear or a process failure in the maintenance regime?  Logistics UK reports can assess the competence of any work undertaken, quality of the repair and condition of the vehicle – all critical information for use in a dispute or an arbitration.

The team help members understand how they need to meet industry standards, comply with statutes and applicable regulation. They can design an engineering process, determine the vehicle specification required for vehicle or fleet acquisition or support a member in the resolution of a dispute with a supplier, manufacturer, service provider or warranty via an engineer’s investigation and report.

Pro-active advice

Alternatively, our engineering consultants can also take a more pro-active role – for example in the appraisals of specialist vehicles to determine whole life costs, maintenance or replacement schedules for:

  • Public service vehicles and goods vehicles of all sizes
  • HGVs and LCVs, lifting and goods handling equipment
  • Agricultural, construction, military transport and emergency vehicles
