FTA response to new safety measures for UK arrivals

In response to the government’s announcement today (22 May 2020) regarding COVID-19 safety measures for UK arrivals, Alex Veitch, Head of Multimodal and International Policy at FTA comments:

“Maintaining the smooth flow of goods across borders is vital to the country’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak, so FTA is pleased to see workers within the haulage and freight industry are exempt from the government’s new measures, announced today. As the business group representing the logistics sector, we look forward to working with government on the implementation of its safety policies at borders to ensure the integrity of supply chains are protected while preventing the spread of COVID-19.”
