Wednesday 04 October 2023
Industry leaders often find it hard to take the time to absorb news and information, particularly when the world of work is turning ever faster. With the first episode launched Saturday 30 September 2023, Leading on Logistics is Logistics UK’s new Executive Membership podcast series– created in partnership with Broadcast Revolution – which provides expert insight and examines the challenges and opportunities currently facing the logistics industry.
Hosted by former BBC presenter and producer, Mike Young, the first episode of the podcast focuses on skills and explores some of the key findings from the business group’s recently published Skills Insight Report. In honour of national podcast day, the first episode is free to all, but following episodes will be part of the exclusive offering for executive members.
Kevin Green, Director at Logistics UK, comments: “Logistics is a complex and fast-paced sector. I am delighted that Logistics UK can share this podcast with industry, to enable logistics leaders across the country to access the information they need about current issues, on the go. Leading on Logistics will feature thought-provoking discussions and in-depth analysis into the significant issues and barriers challenging our sector and the possible solutions to overcome them.
“Our first episode sees Mr Young interview a number of skills specialists including Kate Shoesmith, Deputy CEO of the Recruitment Employment Confederation; Lynn Brown, Vice President of Human Resources at XPO Logistics; People Director at Wincanton, Jo Pick and Nick Graham, Head of External Networks at Eddie Stobart, regarding the current skills shortages across our industry and what the sector needs to help plug the skills gap.
