Logistics UK to release its Logistics Report 2023 at Multimodal

Thursday 01 June 2023

Logistics UK – the business group that represents all parts of the logistics industry – will release its annual Logistics Report at Multimodal on 13 June at the NEC, Birmingham. The report is the organisation’s market-leading overview of the sector and provides oversight and analysis of the issues which have shaped the industry over the past year.

Multimodal will take place 13-15 June, with Logistics UK hosting two days of thought leadership insights in the organisation’s theatre at the event. Giving the keynote speech – in which the headline findings of the report will be announced – will be President of Logistics UK, Phil Roe.

Mr Roe comments: “Logistics underpins the whole economy and is an enabler of trade and growth, so it is vital that all involved in the sector, and stakeholders, are aware of the influences which shape our world. Publishing our Logistics Report 2023 at Multimodal will allow us to share the findings with key industry experts – it is always highly anticipated and provides an invaluable insight for businesses of all sizes. The logistics landscape is ever-evolving, with developing technologies, the race towards decarbonisation and rising costs influencing the sector; as one of the UK’s leading business groups – and the only one that represents all sectors of industry – we look forward to sharing our expert analytical insights.”

The report will focus on topics such as connectivity, efficiency, skills, decarbonisation and trade, and examines national statistics as well as data collected by Logistics UK’s Industry Survey.

Also included within the packed schedule at the Logistics UK theatre will be sessions on a multimodal approach and connectivity challenges, a strategic approach to building a resilient workforce for multimodal operations and the impact of freeports. There will also be multiple sessions focusing on the different transport modes, including maximising the UK’s air cargo potential, the benefits and barriers of inland waterways and coastal shipping, and a focus on unlocking rail freight growth and digitalising the sector.
