Traffic Commissioner to headline Fleet Engineer Conference 2020
Monday 19 October 2020
Traffic Commissioner for the West of England, Kevin Rooney, will be giving his views on maintaining compliance in today’s technological world at Logistics UK’s popular Fleet Engineer Conference, which is back due to popular demand on 21 October 2020. Mr Rooney will be explaining the obligations placed on operators when undertaking safety inspections on their vehicles and trailers to ensure that they are inspected properly and that technological safety features are being maintained effectively.
Delivered on a cutting edge, immersive conference and networking platform, speakers at the Fleet Engineer Conference also include Dave Wood, the Enforcement Policy Manager of the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), who will be providing an overview of the agency’s plans to maintain an effective MOT testing service and its recent changes to roadside encounters and maintenance investigation. Sponsored by Brigade Electronics, Clarios, Continental Tyres, DAF Trucks, Mobil Delvac, Logistics UK Recovery and Schmitz Cargobull, the event will be ideal for those with responsibility for specifying commercial vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness, compliance and maintaining vehicles.
Phil Lloyd, Head of Engineering Policy at Logistics UK, comments: “As technology continues to evolve at such a rapid rate, maintaining and inspecting vehicles and trailers is becoming increasingly challenging for commercial vehicle engineers. I am thrilled Kevin Rooney, the Traffic Commissioner for the West of England, will be sharing with the audience his expectations of engineers in terms of safety inspections, as well as his insight on how to ensure vehicles and trailers are inspected properly and that technological safety features are being maintained effectively.”
Fleet Engineer Conference will also offer delegates the opportunity to engage with leading logistics industry suppliers online in the Exhibition Hall. Visitors will be able to download brochures, thought leadership content and whitepapers showcasing the latest technical innovations; they are also free to ask exhibitors questions via text or video chat.
