FTA celebrates its most successful ever Transport Manager conference series
Thursday 31 October 2019
Bookings for FTA’s Transport Manager 2019 autumn conferences, sponsored by Bridgestone Tyres, have already passed the 1,500 mark, making the current series the most successful in over 20 years of the event. Five conferences have already taken place since the series started in September, but there’s still space at the remaining six - which take place in Southampton, Belfast, Scotland, Doncaster, Coventry and Wales over the coming weeks.
Carlie Nowell, FTA’s Head of Events, said: “We’re delighted that so many people see the benefit of coming to our Transport Manager conferences, to make sure they’re up to date with the latest legislation changes and compliance information - something that’s vital for anyone who’s responsible for a vehicle fleet or operates vehicles as part of their job. The one-day events enable delegates to gather the latest information and hear direct from policy makers and experts, and we’re delighted that so many people want to come along this year.
“Although bookings are at a record high this year, there’s still space available at the remaining venues, but I’d advise anyone wishing to come along to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as places are going fast.”
The series of 11 conferences, which is also sponsored by Schmitz Cargobull and Brigade Electronics, highlights key issues for anyone operating commercial vehicles and includes an essential legislation round-up and technical update on the main topics on the horizon that vehicle operators need to be aware of in order to ensure the safety, compliance and efficiency of their organisation.
There will be an address by the local Traffic Commissioner at each venue on their priorities for the year ahead, an update by the DVSA on its enforcement and transformation work, with other sessions covering tyres, technology and how to significantly reduce your fuel budget; brake testing; urban restrictions; trailer developments; future regulations; drivers’ employment status; and an update by the National Counter Terrorism Police on the use of vehicles as a weapon.
Transport Manager is touring the UK until the end of November and places are selling fast – for further information or to book a place go to https://fta.co.uk/tm2019 or call FTA Customer Services on 03717 11 22 22.
