FTA's Fleet Engineer conference is back!

Monday 15 April 2019

Vehicle technologies in logistics are constantly evolving, with an increasing number of new applications and different vehicle configurations making fleet management a more complex engineering task.  To help those responsible for maintenance of fleets of all sizes, FTA’s Fleet Engineer Conference will be back on 11 June 2019 at the National Agriculture and Exhibition Centre (NAEC) in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. The key focus will be the advancement of vehicle technology and preparations which engineers can make so that they can maintain these vehicles in a fully compliant condition.

The one-day conference, sponsored by Continental Tyres, will provide delegates with exclusive opportunities to hear about the very latest developments in commercial vehicle technology, maintenance legislation changes and best practice advice from leading names from across the sector.  It is ideal for those with responsibilities for specifying commercial vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness, compliance and maintaining vehicles.

Phil Lloyd, FTA Head of Engineering & Vehicle Standards Policy, comments, “As vehicle technology is progressing at an alarming rate, we have made this the focus of Fleet Engineer 2019. FTA works with its members to help them achieve and maintain a high level of overall compliance. Our aim is to hold an event that will assist both engineers and engineering managers to prepare themselves for these technological advancements, so they are better able to deal with the complexities of new vehicle technology. We look forward to seeing everyone at this exciting event."

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods.  With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc.  A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
