Interim Logistics Sector M&A Survey Report

Carter Backer Winter LLP (CBW) and Logistics UK, in conjunction with the leading independent logistics research firm Analytiqa, have undertaken an interim survey of companies' expectations for merger and acquisitions (M&A) activity, following the launch of the Logsitics Sector M&A Index in September 2020.

The interim survey, which draws on the insight of senior executives within logistics companies in the UK, provides a view on expected trends in M&A, including valuations, as well as highlighting some of the most important issues facing companies in the sector in light of Covid-19 and Brexit.

We believe that the results show a significant increase in appetite for M&A activity, and a more optimisitc outlook for the sector in the context of the impact of Brexit, continuing uncertainty around the effects of Covid-19 and challenges facing the global economy. We expect to see further consolidation in the sector over the next 12 months.

You can also watch a video of CBW's Head of Logistics and Corporate Finance, Philip Bird, and David Wells. Chief Executive of Logistics UK, discussing the results of the survey.
