A senior Cabinet Minister has been confirmed to speak at Get Ready for Brexit conference

With fewer than 70 days to go until the end of the Brexit transition period, logistics businesses are working hard to prepare for the new trading relationship.

To provide up-to-the-minute information about the political situation and guidance for those businesses trading with the EU, one of the Senior Cabinet Ministers has been announced as the keynote speaker at Logistics UK’s ‘Get Ready for Brexit’ virtual conference, sponsored by Port of Dover and DDC FPO.

This half-day event on 25 November 2020 will help hauliers understand what they need to do to be ready to operate effectively from 1 January 2021.

Speakers at the event will provide practical advice on all the key issues which could affect hauliers moving goods to and from Europe via a combination of presentations, panel sessions and group discussion. These will include customs controls and procedures, GVMS and other new IT systems, traffic management in Kent, and trade to and from GB and Northern Ireland.

The half-day conference will consist of six sessions:

  • Session 1: Welcome, agenda and key issues.
  • Session 2: UK to EU haulage – Smart Freight and traffic management.
  • Session 3: UK to EU Customs requirements for Ro Ro.
  • Session 4: Systems and Procedures: GVMS, Temporary Storage, Phyto-Sanitary, Safety and Security Declarations.
  • Session 5: Permits and haulier market access.
  • Session 6: Northern Ireland Protocol – what hauliers need to know.
