Working group expresses range of views on Category B consultation

Members of Logistics UK’s Van Policy Working Group met in Northamptonshire on Tuesday (27 September 2022) to discuss a range of issues affecting the Light Commercial Vehicle sector.

One of the main topics for discussion was to review the draft response to the Driving Licence Flexibility for Alternatively Fuelled Vehicles consultation, which looks at proposals regarding training requirements, vehicle types, towing and eligible powertrains. The draft response to the consultation, often referred to as the Category B derogation for alternatively fuelled vehicles, was circulated to members of the working group ahead of the meeting.

Denise Beedell, Public Policy Manager, Logistics UK, said: “We enjoyed a constructive discussion on our draft response to the Category B derogation and while a range of views were expressed, we arrived at a consensus of opinion which will be reflected in our final response to the government.”
