Help yourself, help CHEP and help global supply chains

You’ve probably seen our blue pallets moving through supply chains around the world, but you might not realise that CHEP pallets can help you do more than transport goods.

Unlike other pallets, CHEP pallets can help customers save space, boost reliability, improve safety, reduce hassle and help the environment. But to do this effectively, we need everyone to play their part by returning CHEP pallets to us when they’ve finished using them.

HOW DOES RETURNING PALLETS HELP BUSINESSES?

Quite simply, it allows us to extend the life of all our pallets, enabling them to be used by multiple businesses over and over again. This saves so much wood waste, reduces emissions and it’s more cost effective too. In fact, when you know that this is possible (and how easy this can be) it starts to make single-use pallets look incredibly wasteful. Therefore, working with CHEP and returning our pallets is a great way for businesses to be more efficient and support their sustainability ambitions.

Also, every time we get our pallets back, it’s an opportunity for us to complete a full inspection, carry out routine maintenance and repair any damage. This means that we can make sure that they’re always in top condition the next time they’re used. So, whenever you receive CHEP pallets from us, you know that they meet our high quality and safety standards — ultimately reducing the risk of a damaged pallet causing havoc in your supply chain.

But of course, if businesses don’t return our pallets, then it’s harder for us to regularly check and maintain them. So, returning CHEP pallets really does help us to help you.

WE'RE PASSING MILLIONS OF PALLETS AROUND THE WORLD

Pallet availability is crucial to the smooth operation of global supply chains. And this can be hit hard by all sorts of factors, ranging from fluctuating lumber prices to sudden rises in demand. At CHEP, our model of collecting, repairing and reusing pallets enables us to offer much more consistent levels of pallet availability that businesses can rely on.

Currently CHEP has a global pallet pool of over 120 million pallets moving around the world at any given moment. This is made possible by the co-operation of customers who return their pallets and play their part in helping to cut carbon emissions, keep wood waste out of landfill and boost value across the supply chain.

By returning pallets you’re helping to keep this global pool of pallets in circulation, which gives CHEP customers access to more high-quality pallets, better service levels and also provides a degree of protection from the often volatile lumber market.

RETURNING CHEP PALLETS COULDN'T BE EASIER

We do everything we can to make our customers’ lives as easy as possible. Even the colour of our pallets was chosen to stand out and help customers quickly and easily identify the pallets that need to be returned. So, if you ever see a blue pallet, please just put it to one side ready for collection.

We come and collect them free of charge too. All you need to do is fill out our online form and we’ll do the rest. That’s it. Just keep your eyes peeled for blue pallets, fill in a few details and relax, safe in the knowledge that you’re helping to keep all sorts of businesses and supply chains moving quickly, safely and more sustainably.
