Annie get your gong!

Huge congratulations to Logistics UK's Apprenticeship Manager Annie Graham who was awarded the prestigious Herbert Crow Memorial Award for Education on 22 April at the Woodmongers Banquet.

The Herbert Crow Memorial Award honours achievement in transport scholarship, management systems, training, research, authorship and publication, or any other knowledge-enhancing transport activity.

Founded by the Worshipful Company of Carmen in 2000 and now presented by the Carmen’s Benevolent Trust, it comprises the Herbert Crow Memorial Cup, displayed in the Company offices, a silver gilt medal and framed citation, to be retained by the award recipient(s).

"I’m honoured to receive this education award in memory of Herbert Crow," said Annie. "Logistics UK's apprenticeship offer is going from strength to strength. We take pride in supporting our apprentices through learning and development specific to the industry.

"Our members are delighted with the apprenticeship offer. They site how beneficial apprentice's new knwoledge and skills are to their businesses and, most of all, that apprentices develop their softer skills.

“Receiving the Herbert Crow Education Award alongside Carl Hughes is very special and recognises the strides which have been made at Logistics UK to establish apprenticeships as part of our training portfolio.

"People are the lifeblood of our sector and effective apprenticeships are essential for attracting the next generation into the profession, so it is fantastic to be recognised in this way.”

Logistics UK's CEO David Wells OBE, who is pictured with Annie at the awards, said: "This is a wonderful accolade for Annie and recognition of the work she has done to develop and promote our apprenticeship programmes.”
