Make noise for Ukraine - honk your horns on 24 August

The UK government, NATO and Ukraine are leading an international campaign to Make Noise For Ukraine on Ukrainian Independence Day.

Show your support for Ukrainian Independence Day by making some noise like playing an instrument, singing a song, chanting, clapping, stomping your feet, honking your car horn, or another fun innovative way to show your support!

On 24 August, The UK government, NATO and Ukraine would like you to make as much noise as possible to voice our loud and defiant support for the people of Ukraine and celebrate the way of life that they are fighting to defend.

Post a video of yourself or your friends making noise for Ukraine and cheering the message ‘Slava Ukraini’ or ‘Glory to Ukraine’ on social media with the hashtag #MakeNoiseForUkraine.

The UK government, NATO and Ukraine want to show that UK society and communities across the country support the global effort to stand with Ukraine. Think about how your organisation could make a bold, defiant statement in support of Ukraine using the resources available.

Please post a video of your organisation making noise for Ukraine on social media on 24 August 2024 using the hashtag #MakeNoiseForUkraine.

New In Brief

No butts, please, we're British

Cigarette butts are the most littered item in the world – in fact, more than three million of them are dropped every day in the UK.

And despite what many smokers think, they are not natural or harmless.  Left to degrade in the environment, over time, cigarette butts break apart into microplastics and seep toxins into the earth and our waterways – and ultimately into wildlife, as well as our food chain.

To help address this problem, Keep Britain Tidy has this week launched its free Butt Box, for smokers to use to collect and then safely dispose of butts safely.

To obtain yours, simply visit  - all you need to pay is for postage and packing.

And to find out more about the impact of litter on the environment please visit.
