Logistics UK jointly hosts Welsh MPs discussion about food and drink supply chain


Logistics UK, in partnership with six other trade associations representing the food and drink sector from farm to fork in Wales, hosted a dinner for Welsh MPs on 19 November. Eight MPs attended the Food 7 Cymru dinner, representing a third of all Welsh MPs.

Many of those attending were newly elected in the 2024 General Election, so the event provided a good opportunity to build new relationships and highlight the vital role the logistics sector plays in enabling growth in the Welsh economy and supporting Welsh trade and exports.

Food 7 Cymru partners include the National Farmers Union Cymru, Farmers’ Union of Wales, Logistics UK, Food and Drink Federation Cymru, the Welsh Retail Consortium, the Association of Convenience Stores and UK Hospitality Cymru.

The group works collectively to positively influence politicians in Wales to on important issues, such as skills, decarbonisation, investment and growth in the food and drink sector from farm to fork.

MPs attending the dinner were David Chadwick MP, Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe (Liberal Democrats), Ann Davies MP, Caerfyrddin (Plaid Cymru), Becky Gittins MP, Clwyd East (Labour Party), Dame Nia Griffith DBE MP, Llanelli (Labour Party), Claire Hughes MP, Bangor Aberconwy (Labour Party), Ben Lake MP, Ceredigion Preseli (Plaid Cymru), Llinos Medi MP, Ynys Mon (Plaid Cymru), and the Rt Hon Liz Saville Roberts MP, Dwyfor Meirionnydd (Plaid Cymru).
