Transitioning to electric vehicles – share your experiences

Logistics UK is currently working on producing an Electric Vehicle report, scheduled to be published in the spring.

The business group is keen to interview operators who have already transitioned vehicles in their van and lighter HGV fleets – in full or in part – to electric vehicles (EVs). It would also like to hear from operators who began to procure electric goods vehicles but paused their transition to EVs owing to operational or other reasons.

The responses of participating operators will be used to write up case studies to illustrate the report with real-world examples. If they wish, operators can choose to remain anonymous, enabling Logistics UK to paint the fullest and most comprehensive picture of operators’ experiences of transitioning to electric van fleets. Logistics UK will use the report to evidence the policies it is calling on the Department for Transport to adopt.

Sarah Watkins, Deputy Director – Policy Information, said: “While there has been a heavy focus on the 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vans and cars in recent years, there has been less attention paid to the experiences of operators who have already embarked on their decarbonisation journey. This report aims to remedy that, and we are urging as many of our members as possible to share their stories with us – good, bad or indifferent – to help inform our forthcoming report on electric vehicles.”

Members interested in participating should email research@logistics.org.uk.
