Van news: Deadline extended for Logistics UK’s Van Awards 2023

Due to huge popular demand, business group Logistics UK has extended the entry deadlines for both its Logistics Awards and Van Awards 2023 until 5pm on Friday 28 July to enable interested businesses to complete their submissions.

“The logistics industry is an extraordinary asset to the UK and its economy, keeping supply chains protected and our country moving,” says David Wells, Logistics UK’s Chief Executive.

“We’ve had unprecedented interest in entering the awards this year, but understand the demanding nature of the sector has made time tight for some potential entrants: we have decided to extend the submissions deadline for both of these long-awaited events to allow deserving applicants more time to enter.”

The Van Awards will be taking place on 15 September 2023 at the Hyatt Regency in Birmingham with shortlisted applicants in each of the categories invited to the celebratory awards lunch.

The awards are supported by the Van Gold Partners The AA, Brigade Electronics, Lex Autolease, TVL Security and Webfleet. The winners of each of the awards will form the shortlist for the Van Business of the Year award, to be presented at the Logistics Awards 2023.

For more information, and to enter the Van Awards, please visit: http://www.logistics.org.uk/vanawards23.

Taking place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on 7 December 2023, the prestigious Logistics UK Logistics Awards brings together the whole industry to recognise and celebrate both individual and business achievements across the past twelve months.

The winners of each category will be announced at an elegant reception and three-course dinner with entertainment. Those wishing to enter this year’s Logistics Awards should visit www.logistics.org.uk/logistics23 for more information.

In brief

Invitation to participate in EV adoption by fleet research

The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) are carrying out research into adoption of electric vans by commercial fleets.

With the phase-out of sales of new petrol and diesel vans from 2030, DESNZ/OZEV are keen to understand how to better support commercial fleets to adopt electric vans and related smart-charging technology.

Researchers at TRL would like to engage with those who have already adopted electric vans and those who have not yet. The data collected will inform future activities to support adoption of electric vans. Participation includes:

  • Answering an online survey by Tuesday 18 July. The survey link is here.
  • Possibly taking part in a short online interview in July – express your interest for an interview here

Members wishing to participate, please contact Annabel Knightly or Sam Denyer for further information.
