Logistics UK officially approved as a government-funded apprenticeship provider

Logistics UK is pleased to announce its successful application to the Apprenticeship Provider and Assessment Register (APAR), initially launching the Level 3 Transport Operations Supervisor programme in January 2024, with further apprenticeships expected to be announced in the coming months.

The news will enable the business group to further support its members by offering high-quality apprenticeship training, as well as advising on the funding options available to both levy and non-levy businesses.  Ultimately, the aim is to support members in driving productivity and growth by developing the next generation of the workforce.

“We are thrilled to be recognised and approved as an APAR apprenticeship training provider,” said Annie Graham, Apprentice Manager at Logistics UK, who led the project.

“This is an excellent achievement for Logistics UK and a testament to our efforts in helping logistics businesses to upskill their existing employees and attract new talent into the industry. I want to congratulate and thank everyone involved who helped make this happen.

“We look forward to continuing to deliver on our outstanding training reputation and encourage anybody interested to join one of our upcoming apprenticeship webinars, which will provide more information.”

The Transport Operations Supervisor programme is suited to employees working in the transport and logistics sector who wish to progress to a Transport Manager role, with the Transport Manager qualification funded as part of the apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will be delivered via a combination of remote sessions, one-to-one tutor support and access to e-learning. The course is estimated to run for 12 months, followed by a three-month EPA (end-point assessment period).

To learn more about available upcoming apprenticeships and how you can apply, please join one of the live webinars taking place on Tuesday 7 November from 10 to 11am or Thursday 9 November from 1 to 2pm.

“Logistics UK already has an established and successful training provision with a wealth of courses available, allowing great flexibility for the development of apprenticeships that truly meet employers’ needs,” continues David Jordan, Deputy Director of Training at Logistics UK.

“In addition to apprenticeship training, the business group will continue to educate the industry on the many apprenticeship opportunities and their benefits, including their potential to impact productivity and growth.”

“We are also developing level 2 offers that will be attractive to young people and those considering entering the industry.”
