Shortlist announced for Logistics UK’s Van Awards 2023

Some of the UK’s finest freight businesses are celebrating this week after being announced as finalists for Logistics UK’s Van Awards 2023.

The event, supported by Logistics UK’s Van Gold Partners – The AA, Brigade Electronics, Lex Autolease, TVL Security and Webfleet – celebrates van operators across the country, with each finalist carefully selected from an impressive number – and quality – of entries.

Winners will be announced at a celebratory lunch taking place at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham on 15 September 2023, with entertainment provided by award-winning comedy duo, Raymond and Mr Timpkins.

“The Van Awards received a high calibre of entrants this year, all of whom were deserving to win their chosen category, which made the judging process exceptionally difficult,” says David Wells, Chief Executive at Logistics UK.

“Van operators are essential to life across the UK, and these awards are the perfect opportunity to celebrate all the excellent work and dedication from the sector over the past twelve months.

UK electric van sets new Guinness World Record

Webfleet has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the longest distance travelled by an electric van on a single charge.

The 311.18-mile journey took 13 hours and nine minutes to complete in a Fiat E-Scudo with no modifications, driving an urban and rural route to replicate real-world conditions.

“This remarkable achievement is testimony to the determination and technological ingenuity of all those involved,” said Beverley Wise, Webfleet’s Regional Director for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions.

“The record demonstrates not only the capabilities of electric vans and advanced Bridgestone tyre technology for businesses and urban mobility, but also the impact that drivers can have on electric vehicle (EV) energy consumption.”
