Logistics UK's Van Operational Briefings back by popular demand

Logistics UK’s ever popular Van Operational Briefings are back for another year, to provide operators with the essential knowledge they need to operate their vehicles in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.

Sponsored by Logistics UK’s Van Gold Partners – the AA, Bott Ltd, Brigade Electronics, Hertz, Lex Autolease, Quartix and TVL – the briefings will take place at venues in Manchester on 14 September 2021, and Beaconsfield on 16 September 2021. Leading speakers from across the industry will provide the latest information on compliance and operating standards – crucial for any van operator – and will share vital insights into driver welfare, alternative fuels, navigating changed road space and operators’ obligations regarding vehicle safety defects and recalls.

Denise Beedell, Logistics UK’s Policy Manager for Vans and Urban, explains: “The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the crucial role vans play in everyday life, whether they are used for delivery services or to keep our vital utilities and services running. With more than four million vans on Britain’s roads, it is essential that operators remain complaint, regardless of fleet size. Decarbonisation is a high priority for the sector; these briefings will assist those making the transition to electrification, providing delegates with the toolkit they need to operate electric van fleets effectively.

“And following this challenging year, throughout which van operators have worked tirelessly to meet the increased demand for deliveries and other services, the briefings will also provide delegates with an understanding of strategies that can be incorporated into daily routines to allow drivers to perform safely and at their best, highlighting the importance of driver health, resilience and well-being in everyday life.”

The day will include a range of expert industry speakers, as well as plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Places are priced at £50 + VAT per briefing, per delegate.
