A snapshot of where the Logistics UK policy team has been and who they've seen in the past week.
- With the unfolding US tariffs announcements, we have reached out to members to ask for their assessment of the situation. Members are largely waiting to see how it plays out, with current high levels of uncertainty. Logistics UK is calling on the UK government to use domestic levers to support the UK economy and supply chains.
- Logistics UK's Head of Trade and Devolved Policy Nichola Mallon met with the Northern Ireland Economy Minister and following this meeting, Logistics UK has been invited to join a newly established ministerial working group of three business organisations to provide industry insights and input to the NI Executive’s response to tariffs.
- Nichola also met with the new Director of the Windsor Framework Task Force, Fleur Johnson, on Tuesday to bring her up to speed on the concerns of the industry in respect of readiness and how enforcement might be managed on the ground, ahead of changes coming into force on 1 May.
- Policy Manager - Trade, Customs and Borders Josh Fenton attended a meeting with the Welsh Government on updating their road safety strategy.

- Logistics UK's CEO David Wells OBE, Head of Public Affairs Natalie Chapman and Public Affairs Events and Stakeholder Manager Callum Jones attended the Lower Thames Crossing parliamentary reception, where the focus now turns to funding the project.
- Senior Policy Manager Stephanie Haszczyn attended the Sustainable Logistics Conference in Leeds.
- Senior Policy Manager Chris Yarsley met with the Office of the Traffic Commissioners.
- Logistics UK’s CEO David Wells, Director of Policy & Communications Kevin Green and Deputy Director – Policy Michelle Gardner met with a member of the Department for Business and Trade's Industrial Strategy Advisory Council, where they made the case for why logistics should be a foundational sector in the Industrial Strategy.
- Logistics UK's Head of Trade and Devolved Policy Nichola Mallon met Lord Murphy, who is carrying out the Independent Review into the Windsor Framework.
- Senior Policy Manager Stephanie Haszczyn and Policy Data Analyst Tate Butler visited DP World London Gateway.
- The Logistics UK Public Services Logistics Conference took place in Nottingham on Tuesday, with a good turn out and positive feedback from members.
